3. The Blues for Thomas Waller album features Wilson solo. The main thing that I love about this is you can hear his every note and nuance. Wilson had a light touch and almost silvery tone that were his alone. He also had a way of playing that was anchored in the past. I cannot describe it, but you can hear echoes of James P. Johnson if you listen 5/5(1).

Although George had not written a verse for the song, he did have an idea for it that both Ira and pianist Oscar Levant had heard before his death.
